A 39-year-old man wrote to our editorial seeking guidance on his extremely problematic family situation. His statement seemed like a genuine cry for help, and the man appeared desperate. He found and read his wife’s diary, and his actions were justified by the fact that she was in a coma and he only wanted a piece of her.
Instead, he was completely devastated by what he discovered about his spouse’s nature and actions. A distraught 39-year-old man wrote to us and shared his incredibly awful family tragedy. He begged for no judgement and hoped to receive assistance from us and our readers regarding his problematic family situation.
He began his letter by adding, “I hope I have written to the right place to get some advice.” I can’t talk to anyone about it, and I doubt I’ll be able to share my tale with my closest family members.»
The man continues, saying that his beloved wife has suffered from a bad accident some time ago. This accident resulted in her being in an 8-day coma. He explained, «When my spouse went into the coma, it is obvious that no one really knew at the time how long it was going to last.
I thought that it would be months, and maybe even years, before my wife would ever wake up. I was not even sure if she actually would wake up from that coma, and it felt for me like I had lost her already.»
The man described his feelings at that moment, saying, «I was absolutely broken, I was destroyed with grief and all that uncertainty was killing me. Every day that was passing with no optimistic news just plunged me deeper into despair.»
The man also stated that their connection had always been practically perfect.
He said, “We’ve been married for 15 years.” We’ve traveled all over the world together. I can honestly claim that she is my best friend, and I am hers. I imagined my life would end if the doctors told me my wife would go brain dead or not wake up.
The man admitted that he was completely desperate about the whole scenario. One night, he sat in their bedroom, feeling terrible. He stated, “I felt emotionally and physically drained by it all.” That was another day without good news.
I chose to lie on her side of the bed because I could smell her through the pillows, which made me feel comforted. The man explained that his wife applied lotion every night before going to bed, and he opened the drawer to get the bottle of lotion from there because he wanted to smell it. Then he noticed his wife’s diary there.
