I'M A SINGLE DAD OF TWO GIRLS – WOKE UP TO PREPARE BREAKFAST FOR MY DAUGHTERS & FOUND IT ALREADY COOKED I'm a single dad to two little girls, 4 and 5 years old.
My wife left us to travel the world. Being a single dad is tough because, besides working, I have to cook, take them to daycare, and take care of them at home.
They mean the world to me, but I'm often wiped out. Recently, I woke up as usual, got my daughters dressed, and went to the kitchen to pour milk over their oatmeal.
Imagine my surprise when I saw three plates of freshly made pancakes with jam and fruit waiting for us on the table. Worried, I checked the house for any uninvited guests and called my relatives to see if they had stopped by.
To my astonishment, I found no one at home, and all my relatives said they hadn't come over that morning. Puzzled, I hurried off to work.
I tasted the pancakes before giving them to the kids, and they were fine. We had breakfast, and I took them to daycare.
When I returned home in the evening, I was amazed to find that the lawn had been mowed. I hadn't had time to mow it because of work.
My curiosity was overwhelming, and I decided to find out who this benefactor was. The next morning, I got up earlier and hid in the kitchen.
Imagine my surprise. ..Continue Reading in below comment 👇👇
Jack, a single father of two daughters juggling employment and two young daughters, had no idea he would wake up one morning to find pancakes served by a stranger on his kitchen table. He went to make breakfast for his daughters but found it already cooked.
When he meets the mysterious donor, he learns about her moving story of overcoming hardship and gratitude, which changes his life and leads to an unexpected connection between them. Being a single father of two young children, Lily, who was five years old, and Emma, who was four years old, was the worst job I’ve ever had.
When my wife left to travel the world, the girls and I were the only people there. Despite my love for them, I was exhausted from cooking, working, and taking care of everything at home.
Every morning, I got up very early. I went first to wake the girls.
Every morning, I got up very early. I went first to wake the girls.
“Emma, Lily, it’s time to rise! ” As I opened the door to their bedroom, I gently called.
As she rubbed her eyes, Lily sat up. She said, “Good morning, Daddy,” yawning at him.
Emma said, “I don’t want to get up,” half asleep. “I smiled.
” Dear, please. We must get ready for daycare.
I helped them put on their clothing. Lily went with her favorite dress, the one with the flowers, while Emma went with her pink shirt and pants.
After they were dressed, all of us went downstairs. I started making breakfast in the kitchen.
The strategy was simple: Oats and milk. But when I entered the kitchen, I stopped completely.
On the table were three freshly prepared pancakes with fruit and jam. Did you see this, girls?
I inquired, perplexed. Lily’s eyes widened.
Pancakes? Wow!
Did you make them, Daddy? ” I shook his head.
I didn’t, no. It’s possible that Aunt Sarah visited earlier.
I picked up my phone and called my sister Sarah. Hey, Sarah, how are you doing today?
I inquired as soon as she picked up. No, why?
” Sarah seemed confused. I hung up after saying, “Never mind, it’s nothing.
” When I checked, every door and window was locked. There did not appear to be any attempt to break in.
“Daddy, is it safe to eat? ” With her large eyes fixed on the pancakes, Emma inquired.
I decided to try them out first. They were wonderful, and they looked good.
I think everything is okay. I said, “Let’s have some food.
” The girls started eating their food with a cheer. I couldn’t stop thinking about who could have made the pancakes.
Even though it’s unusual, I’ve decided to move on from it for now. I had to complete my work.
After breakfast, I dropped off Emma and Lily at the daycare. I said, “Have a good day, my loves,” and kissed them good-bye.
At work, I had difficulty focusing. The inexplicable pancakes kept coming to mind.
Who might be responsible? Why?
When I got home that evening, I was greeted with yet another pleasant surprise. The lawn was well-kept, even though I didn’t have time to mow it.
Standing in my yard, I scratched my head. I gave the house another look as I thought to myself, “This is getting weird,” and nothing seemed out of place.
I decided that the next morning I would find out who was assisting me. I got up earlier than usual and hid in the kitchen by sneaking through a small doorway.
Around six in the morning, I witnessed a woman walk in through the window. She was dressed like a former postal worker.
While I watched, she began to wash the dishes from the previous evening. She then began making pancakes and took some cottage cheese out of her luggage.
A strong growl came from my stomach. The woman turned around, startled.
She ran to the window and quickly turned off the gas. “Please hold on; As I emerged from my hiding place, I responded, “I promise not to hurt you.
” I take it you made those pancakes. Could you please inform me of this’s purpose?
Don’t be afraid of me because I’m the father of the girls. I wouldn’t hurt a woman, especially after how kind you were to me.
She stopped and gently turned to face me. I recognized a familiarity in her face, but I was unable to pinpoint it.
Have we not previously met? I inquired, perplexed.
Emma and Lily’s voices from upstairs demanded, “Daddy, where are you? ” before the woman could respond.
The mother gave a nod. I went back and forth between the woman and the steps.
Let’s sit down and talk. I’ll go get my women.
I begged you not to go. The woman hesitated, then slowly nodded.
She responded mutedly, “Okay. ” I smiled and felt relieved.
I dashed upstairs to grab Emma and Lily. I dashed upstairs to grab Emma and Lily.
I responded, “Come on, girls, we have a surprise guest downstairs. ” They followed me down, curious.
When we entered the kitchen, the woman was standing by the window, looking unsure and about to leave. “Please, don’t go,” I pleaded in a whisper.
I just want to talk to you and say thanks. Emma and Lily looked at her with wide eyes.
Daddy, who is she? ” Querying Lily.
I responded, “Let’s investigate together. ” I asked, “Please sit down,” turning to face the woman.
Would you like a cup of coffee? She hesitated before slowly nodding.
She said quietly, “Okay. ” The kitchen table was set for everyone to use.
“These are my daughters, Emma and Lily,” I said as my name was Jack. I need to know why we require your assistance.
The female took a deep breath. She introduced herself as Claire at the outset.
You helped me when I was in a very bad place two months ago. As I tried to recall, I scowled.
Who helped you? How?
” “ She continued, “I was weak and desperate lying by the road. ” While everyone else passed by, you paused.
I went with you to a charity hospital. Due to acute dehydration, my life was in jeopardy.
When I woke up, you had already left, but I was able to get the parking guard to give me the number of your car. After seeing your house, I’ve decided to show my appreciation.
I finally had the idea. I remember now that I think back.
Your condition was horrible. There, I was unable to leave you.
With tears in her eyes, Claire nodded. Your kindness saved me.
My ex-husband took everything from me, deceived me, and brought me to America from Britain before abandoning me on the streets. I don’t have anyone or anything to turn to.
Emma and Lily carefully listened, their young faces displaying apprehensive expression. “That’s so sad,” Emma murmured, her voice barely audible.
Why, then, are you here? I enquired, perplexed.
I was able to keep going because of your support,” Claire clarified. I went to the embassy and told them about my experience.
They connected me with an attorney to represent my son and helped me obtain new paperwork. The United States Postal Service employed me.
However, I wanted to repay you and show my appreciation. Because I could tell you were exhausted each day when you got home, I decided to help you with the little things.
Her story touched me deeply. We appreciate your efforts, Claire, but you can’t just break into our house.
I was terrified because it wasn’t safe. She nodded with embarrassment.
Sincere apologies. I didn’t mean to frighten you.
I just wanted to help. Emma reached out to touch Claire’s hand.
I value your pancake-making skills. They were excellent.
Claire smiled, her eyes welling up with tears. I appreciate it, sweetheart.
” I took a deep breath while simultaneously feeling relaxed, curious, and compassionate. Claire, let’s take a different approach to this.
Please refrain from sneaking in. Would you mind coming with us for breakfast on occasion?
We can get to know each other better. Her face shone with a cheerful grin.
It would be nice, Jack. I’m thankful.
We shared the pancakes that she made throughout the morning and ate them together. Claire talked about the story of her son and her plans to get back together with him.
Her strength and determination struck me. As we were finishing our meal, I felt like I was starting from scratch.
A connection was formed by our mutual support and Claire’s appreciation. I felt compelled to assist her in reconnecting with her son because she had been successful in doing so.
I was hopeful for her future because Emma and Lily appeared to already love her. I believed that this might signal the beginning of something beneficial for all of us.
We cleaned up together. I said, “Claire, thank you for sharing your story.
” From now on, let’s assist one another. ” She gave a nod, grinning.
Jack, that would be wonderful. I’m thankful.
As a result, each of our families began a brand-new chapter with optimism and mutual support.
