A homeless man in dirty clothes and bare feet walked into the church: the parishioners looked at him with disgust, but what the priest did sh0cked everyone😲😱

The church was quiet. People were sitting on the benches, some were reading a prayer to themselves, some were listening to the words of the priest. Everything seemed to be going as usual – until a man appeared in the doorway.

He was barefoot, in old torn clothes, with gray hair and a tired look. A barely noticeable whisper ran through the hall. Everyone felt the heavy smell emanating from him.

Several women winced, men turned away to get as far away as possible. No one wanted to have anything to do with him. The homeless man, realizing this, did not even look towards the benches.

He knew that he was dirty, he knew that normal people would not accept him. So he simply knelt down on the cold floor and folded his hands in prayer. His lips whispered words that almost no one heard.

Meanwhile, the parishioners continued to exchange glances. — What is he doing here? — What a disgrace…

— He has nothing to look for here.

And it’s impossible to rest from them in the church. Someone stood up and left, not wanting to sit next to “such a person.”

And at that moment, the priest interrupted the service. He slowly descended from the pulpit and approached the homeless man.

The crowd froze. Everyone hoped that the priest would throw the homeless man out, but he did something unexpected.

The priest put his hand on the man’s back and said loudly:

— God sent you here, brother. So that we could help you.

So that through us He would extend His hand to you. After these words, the priest took off his shoes and handed them to the man. — Take it.

Now pray with us. Today we will pray for your soul, for your suffering, for everything that forced you to end up on the street. But we will also pray for the sins of those who judge a person by their clothes and look with hatred at God’s creation.

After all, the Lord taught us to love our neighbors. These words seemed to strike the hearts of everyone present. People lowered their heads, many did not dare to look at each other.

They felt ashamed. After all, they understood that the priest was talking about them. This story reminds us that goodness begins with ourselves.
