These additional elements enhance the flavor profile and provide a delicious contrast in texture.

Ingredients:

1 ½ cups granulated sugar
⅔ cup evaporated milk
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1½ cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 cups miniature marshmallows
½ cup chopped pecans (optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions:

1. Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal. Set aside.

2. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 ½ cups of sugar, ⅔ cup of evaporated milk, 2 tablespoons of butter or margarine, and ¼ teaspoon of salt. Stir until everything is well mixed and the sugar dissolves.

3. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Once it boils, reduce the heat to medium, and continue to cook and stir for about 4-5 minutes.

4. Remove the saucepan from heat, and stir in marshmallows, chips, chopped pecans (if using), and vanilla extract.

5. Stir aggressively for 1 minute or until marshmallows are melted to your desired level. You can adjust this based on preference.

6. Pour the fudge mixture into a greased baking dish. Decorate the top with more mini mashallows or pecans as desired.

7. Let it cool at room temperature. Put in fridge for 2 hours or until set.

Once set, cut into squares and enjoy your homemade Toll House Famous Fudge!
